Justin Bieber’s perfume

A rather apt article that provides some food for thought, surrounding the celebrity endorsed perfumes and their fan base.

It certainly brought a smile to my face when reading this!

I do think that celebrity endorsed perfumes will present real challenges for Scent, in the light of fame and or scandal. Be prepared to discuss the ethical issues surrounding the drug scandal mentioned in the pre-seen, the financial reporting treatment of inventory and associated re-work if possible. This could link with the product lifecycle and discussion surrounding pricing decisions at different stages of the product lifecycle.

For the launch of any new perfume, a market skimming approach seems most sensible. Over time this may change to a bundling approach to clear inventory as celebrities fame wanes.
