GrandVision offer free glasses to children and the elderly, rules which will vary from country to country. I do think there is an opportunity for IC Optical to partner regionally with schools/care homes to provide government funded eye tests and potentially increasing the sales of corrective products. Customers demand convenience, by visiting schools/care homes on a schedule will provide such convenience and should be scheduled to utilise spare capacity within regional branches. However, such a partnership could also be considered a strategic threat if an IC Optical tender was unsuccessful or IC Optical failed to develop the strategic alliances required for such a venture to be successful.
