Another article from some time ago demonstrating the increasing trend of consumers moving to a online shopping, “deserting” the high street.

This may present IC Optical with an opportunity to negotiate rent for retail space that is no longer in such high demand and also a threat of reduced footfall and passing trade, or the threat of consumers taking their prescription to an online supplier to purchase their glasses and contact lenses that can offer reduced prices due as a result of supplying in bulk to consumers across the country without having to occupy prime retail space.

Let’s hope IC Optical see this coming and prepare accordingly.
